Engineering Skills for Career Success
The focus of Chapters 1 through 6 is on basic skills engineers need to have in order to be successful. Our discussion emphisizes how to develop and enhance these basic skills. rnChapters 7 through 12 focus on further refining and developing the skills established in Section I. In addition, material is presented to enable the student to make sound career decisions. Along with this, students are exposed to the importance of documenting activities, developing team building skills, and learning how to handle a wide variety of ethical dilemmas.rnIn Chapters 13 through 17, the student is exposed to advanced assets designed to continue the development of a successful career. A variety of activities that can enhance one's careeer are presented in detail. These include being able to apply the principles of systems engineering to problem solving, design, and career planning: understanding the elements of project management; developing personal networks; benefitting from co-op and internship experiences; and understanding the importance of a graduate education.rnIn Chapter 1, Four Principles for Earning Higher Grades
