Basic Electrical Engineering
In most schools, a survey course in electrical engineering is required for engineering students not majoring in electrical engineering. Such a course will treat passive electrical networks, electronic devices and circuits, magnetic circuits and electric machines, linear systems, control systems, and instrumentations, or at least most of these topics in a two semester sequence. The present outline is designed to supplement the standard textbooks for this survey course, it could also function as a textbook in its own right. It should find further use as a reviewguide for those (electrical engineers and others) who wish to take the professional engineer’s examination.rnAll the above mentioned areas of electrical engineering, with the exception of instrumentation not problems oriented, are covered in this book. As in other Schaum’s outlines, only a brief review of the subject at hand is given in each chapter. The chief emphasis is on solving pertinent problems, of which over 620 are presented. SI units, as specified in the IEEE standards, are employed throughout rnrnrnrnrnrn21. Question bank in electrical engineering/G.K. MithalrnrnCurrently for selection of an Engineering graduate for Indian Services, GATE, various public sctor and private sector industries, extreme importance is given to written test based on objective type questions. These objective type questions may be of (i) multiple choice type (ii) true/false type or (iii) fill up the blank type. Such objective type questions enable the selection committee to get expiditiously an accurate estimate of the in depth knowledge of candidate.rnThe present book gives typical and probing objective type questions covering fully the syllabii of engineering services examinations in Electrical Engineering. The book includes over 5000 objective type questions with answers. In formation of these questions, stress is given on the quality of questions permitting accurate assessment of the in depth knowledge and analytical ability of candidates. Authors feel confident that the book will find its rightful place in the academic world.rnA wide range of books on concerned topics have been consulted in presenting this book. Authors feel endebted to the authors of all these books. rn
